THE STRUCTUREIT SKUNKWORKS

A small team.
A clear brief.
No committee required.

For businesses where a good idea is stuck behind a complicated process: a team already committed elsewhere, budgets rerouted to other priorities or a technology that nobody has tested. We build the thing. Fast. Then you decide what to do with it.

THE CHALLENGE

Innovation shouldn’t be this hard.

You know the pattern. Someone has an idea. It gets workshopped. It goes to a steering committee. It needs a business case. The business case needs sign-off. Sign-off needs a technology assessment. The technology assessment takes three months and concludes that more research is needed. By the time it clears procurement, the world has moved on, the person with the idea has left, and the organisation has a slide deck that nobody’s reading.

The idea wasn’t bad. The system that processes ideas was.

If any of this sounds familiar,

you’re exactly who we build for.

Checkmark

“We have smart people with good ideas, but nothing ever gets built.”

Checkmark

“We want to explore AI but don’t want to bet a major programme on it yet.”

Checkmark

“Our tech team is good, but they just have no capacity.”

Checkmark

“We need to know if something is technically feasible before we commit.”

Checkmark

“Our innovation budget produces slide decks, not software.”

Checkmark

“There’s a prototype we need to take to the board in eight weeks.”

Checkmark

“We think a point solution might help but we’re not sure it will cover it all”

Checkmark

“We need to know whether this pays for itself before we ask for the budget.”

WHAT WE DO

Four modes of engagement.

All of them are fast.

01 Validate the idea

Build a prototype

You have a concept. We build a working version of it – not a mockup, not a wireframe, but something that runs against your data. Enough to put in front of stakeholders, users, or investors and get a real answer to the real question.

4 – 8 weeks

Deliverable: A working prototype, documented and ready to demo or hand over.

02 Justify the investment

Build the business case

You believe in the project but can’t get it through approvals without evidence. We work with you to size the opportunity, model the cost of delivery, identify the risk, and answer the question the CFO will ask: when will it pay for itself?

2 – 4 weeks

Deliverable: A quantified business case with delivery cost estimate and ROI model.

03 Answer the hard questions

Investigate an idea

You’re not sure if something is technically feasible, commercially viable, or worth doing at all. We dig in: architecture, data, vendor landscape, regulatory angle. You get an honest assessment, and sometimes the honest assessment is: don’t build it.

2 – 6 weeks

Deliverable: A structured investigation report with a clear recommendation.

04 Explore without committing

Experiment with new technology

There’s a technology – AI, a new data platform, an emerging standard – that your organisation wants to understand without betting the farm on it. We run a contained, time-boxed experiment and tell you what we found.

4 – 10 weeks

Deliverable: A working experiment, findings summary, and a go / no-go recommendation.

Not sure which one fits?

NO STRINGS ATTACHED

We build it.
You decide what
happens next.

The skunkworks engagement has a defined end point. What happens after that is entirely your decision. We go in with no assumption that we’ll be the ones to take it further – and that makes us more useful to you, not less.

Your internal team

We build it clean, document it properly, and hand it over in a state your engineers can actually work with. We don’t lock you in. You own it.

Another vendor

If you have a preferred technology partner for the build phase, we hand it directly to them. We’ll brief them, answer questions, and make the transition clean. No ego, no friction.

Us

If the skunkworks phase goes well and you want us to take it to production, we can do that too. But it’s your call – not our default assumption going in.

Designing the End of Spreadsheet Reconciliation

Every deal a broker pursues costs money before it earns any. Travel, marketing, aerial photography, legal fees and closing dinners are either deducted from the broker’s commission when the deal closes or billed back to the client under an engagement letter. Our client, a US commercial real estate brokerage, had been carrying that spend across four systems that did not talk to each other, and recovering it by hand.

OUR TRACK RECORD

Two decades of delivery.

Since 2006

Delivering for clients in structured credit, capital markets and beyond since 2006 – through two recessions and the arrival of AI.

135+

Projects scoped, built, and shipped – on time, to brief, and to a standard our clients come back for.

Taking Compliance and Security seriously

We are registered with the ICO (reference number ZA397954) and boast a flawless track record. As a result, we’ve achieved a 100% success rate in vendor audits. Furthermore, we maintain continuous compliance monitoring across all projects.
